Análisis técnico-económico de la Cooperativa Cafetalera Juan Ramón Corea bajo los principios de las Buenas Prácticas Agrícolas, ciclo agrícola 2009/2010. Colegio de Postgraduados
Cuadra Franco, Luis Alberto.

Comparing the profitability of organic and conventional broiler production Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Cobanoglu,F; Kucukyilmaz,K; Cinar,M; Bozkurt,M; Catli,AU; Bintas,E.
Recently, organic broiler chicken production has received more attention worldwide. This study has carried out an economic analysis to compare the profitability of organic versus conventional growing systems per unit of broiler meat production. To achieve this goal, 400 slow-growing broiler chickens (Hubbard Red-JA) were reared in an organic production system, and the same number of fast-growing birds (Ross-308) in a conventional system. The profitability was deduced with an economic analysis that compared total costs and net income. Results showed that organic broiler meat can cost from 70% to 86% more with respect to variable and fixed costs when compared with conventional production. The main reasons for the higher cost of organic broiler meat were...

Optimum Replacement Time for Cotton Pickers in Greece AgEcon
Kitsopanidis, G.; Mygdakos, E.; Gemtos, T..
In this paper an attempt has been made to determine the optimum replacement time for cotton pickers under the technical and economic conditions in Greece. For this purpose, five relevant methods have been applied to analyze real data taken by 62 cotton pickers working in Central Greece. Three of the methods consider that the optimum replacement time for cotton pickers is the year when the accumulated annual depreciation is equal to the corresponding repair and maintenance costs or the year when the aforementioned annual expenses of the machine per working hour are minimum. The fourth method considers the year in which the accumulated average total costs per working hour or per hectare harvested is minimum, while the fifth method refers to the year in which...

Production costs and profitability in coriander fertilised with Calotropis procera under organic cultivation Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Barros Júnior,Aurélio Paes; Souza,Ênio Gomes Flôr; Ribeiro,Rayanne Maria Paula; Martins,Bruno Novaes Menezes; Silveira,Lindomar Maria da.
ABSTRACT The present study was carried out to determine the amount of biomass of Calotropis procera and itsincorporation time into the soil that provide maximum productivity and profitability in the organic cultivation of coriander during the spring and autumn-winter, under the conditions of Serra Talhada, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. The experiment was conducted in a randomised complete block design, in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme with three replications. The first factor corresponded to the amount of biomass (5.4, 8.8, 12.2 and 15.6 t ha-1 on a dry basis), and the second to the incorporation time (0, 10, 20 and 30 days prior toplanting the coriander). In addition to the green-matter yield and production costs, the following economic indicators were...
